Yes, you can participate in up to two volunteer trips and still receive the Birthright Israel Onward funding for each one. The two trips do not need to be consecutive, and you will be responsible for your arrangements between trips.

Yes! Participating in this volunteer program will not disqualify you from a future Birthright Israel trip or Onward program, provided that all other eligibility requirements are met.

Yes, prior program experience in Israel does not exclude you from participating and receiving full funding.

Participation requires a non-refundable $250 USD program fee. If you are using the group flight, the subsidized cost of the flight is $700. If you are not using the group flight, there is no additional cost above the $250 program fee.

Note that volunteers who have previously participated in a Birthright Israel Volunteer program and received a flight subsidy reimbursement are not eligible for the group flight.

All Trips:

Housing, Shabbat dinner, transportation to and from volunteer placements, health insurance, and organized activities are all included in the cost of the program. Housing may take the form of a furnished apartment or conventional hotel accommodations. Meals vary by Program – the minimum is breakfast daily.

Volunteers stay in hotels with three travelers per room. Volunteers can upgrade to a single room for an additional fee of $100 per night per person. Volunteers traveling with a companion can upgrade to a double room for an extra fee of $25 per night per person.

There will be a community manager and a staff person focusing on logistical support.

Travelers are briefed ahead of arrival on the standard security protocols we follow. Although very unlikely at this point, travelers should be aware that there is a possibility they will be present for a rocket alert siren during our travels. Fortunately, Israel has sophisticated anti-rocket protections, and we will only travel in parts of the country that are away from the border areas where there is reasonable time to seek protection in the event a siren sounds.

If the security situation in Israel worsens, we will adjust the program as needed, and we will cancel the program if we are not confident in being able to provide a safe and meaningful volunteer experience in Israel. As of today, the security situation in Israel continues to improve, allowing us to operate fully and safely.
