Update from Israel #Bus604

Bus 604 has been having a fantastic time discovering Israel together, examining our roots and gaining new experiences along the way. After an eventful few days in the north that concluded with a tour in the mystical city of Tzfat, we headed down to Jerusalem, where on Friday we met our 8 Israeli peers before heading to the Old City. At the Western Wall, 6 of our participants chose to become b’nai mitzvot! A restful Shabbat concluded with a visit to the park before Havdalah and a program about the political situation in Israel.

On Sunday morning, the group shared their many family stories as we entered Yad Vashem to remember those lost in the Holocaust. The day ended at Mount Herzl where we celebrated the state of Israel with a rendition of Hatikvah (Israel’s national anthem). We’re now in the desert after an early morning hike to the top of Masada and a float in the Dead Sea, before heading back up to Tel Aviv tomorrow and wrapping up our wonderful trip together.
