Update from Israel #Bus229

Life on the road is treating us well. We haven’t even had a full day here and already we’ve seen so much.

After a long day of travel, we arrived in Tel Aviv and were greeted by our Israeli travel mates with hugs. We even did the hora together right there in the airport. Then we got the wheels rolling and headed to Sde Boker in the Negev desert for some sleep.

Today, we woke up to ibex right outside our windows. We got in a beautiful hike at Ein Ovdat before it got too toasty. After that, we spent some time in the shade getting to know each other. Next stop: the grave of David Ben Gurion. We spent some time enjoying the spectacular view overlooking the desert and learned about Israel’s first prime minister.

Just had some lunch and now we are en route to a cacti farm to see first-hand how agriculture can thrive in the desert. Then it’s off to the Bedouin tents for a camel trek, dinner and an evening under the desert sky.

We will get to the top of Masada at sunrise tomorrow and then cool off in the Dead Sea. Stay tuned, the adventure is just getting started …
