TL-53-43 UPDATE 1

We kicked off the day at Shehecheyanu at the Caesarea Aqueduct, standing where ancient Roman engineering meets the Mediterranean Sea. With the waves crashing nearby and the sun rising over the stones, it was the perfect setting to reflect on being here together. After the moment, we jumped straight into ice breakers, helping everyone loosen up, laugh, and start forming the bonds that make Birthright so special.

Next, we gathered for a Tel Facher overview, where we learned about Israel’s northern border, regional security, and the strategic importance of the Golan Heights. Standing at the lookout, the group gained historical and geopolitical context that helped ground our journey in both past and present realities.

From there, we headed north for a hike in the Banias, one of Israel’s most stunning natural reserves. Walking alongside rushing water, lush greenery, and ancient ruins gave us a chance to recharge and experience a completely different side of the country.

Our nature-filled morning flowed right into a tour of Kibbutz Ayelet HaShachar, where we learned about kibbutz life—its history, values, and how communal living has evolved over time. It was a meaningful look at Israeli society beyond the cities.

In the afternoon, we arrived in Tzfat, one of Judaism’s four holy cities. Wandering its narrow blue alleyways, artist quarters, and historic synagogues felt like stepping into another world, rich with spirituality and creativity.

For lunch, we were welcomed into a traditional Druze home, where we shared a warm, homemade meal. Beyond the incredible food, it was a powerful opportunity to experience Druze hospitality and learn about their culture firsthand—one of the most memorable parts of the day.

We ended the day in Jerusalem, where history and modern life collide like nowhere else. After settling in, the group headed out for a night out in the city, soaking in the energy, lights, and excitement of being in Israel’s capital. Whether walking through bustling streets or just spending time together, it was the perfect way to close an unforgettable day.
