TL-50-100 UPDATE 6
Today began with a meaningful visit to the Har Herzl National Military Cemetery, where we paid tribute to fallen soldiers and heard stories from our friends about their loved ones who are buried there. Afterward, we had lunch on our own in Jerusalem, enjoying local cuisine and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.
In the afternoon, we embarked on a fascinating walking tour of the Jewish Quarter in the Old City. We explored its narrow streets, ancient synagogues, and bustling markets, gaining insights into the area’s deep cultural and religious significance.
Our journey then took us to the Kotel, the Western Wall, where we reflected and felt the cold stones of prayers past.
Later, we drove to Kfar Hanokdim nestled in the Negev desert. Here we settled into our giant tents, chose a colorful floor mattress, and gathered around a bonfire for games and dancing. The evening continued with a walk amongst the stars under the waning full moon.
We returned to our tents, and settled into our sleeping bags for a few hours of sleep.
