TL-47-401 Update 2

Dearest family and friends,

Our journey in Israel is coming to a close. During our last update, we shared about our time in Ha’on. After the North, we went to Tzfat  to see the ancient city, later heading to Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv was a blast—we met our Israeli participants, visited the old city of Jaffa and explored Tel Aviv on our own.

After Tel Aviv, we headed to Qiryat Gat, the partnership region of the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago, where we played soccer with local schoolchildren. Next, we headed to Kfar Hanokdim for our Bedouin tent experience, where we met bedouins, fed camels and had dinner and a bonfire. We woke up right and early the next day to climb Masada, after which we headed to the Dead Sea for some floating and lunch.

Finally, we headed to Jerusalem, where we have been for the last two days. Yesterday, we visited Mt Herzl and Yad Vashem for a meaningful day of learning. After a emotional day, we celebrated together with a night out in Mahane Yehuda market.

Today, we visited the Kotel and walked around the Old City, and now we’re getting ready for Shabbat.

Shabbat Shalom from Bus 401!
