TL-47-30 Update 10

Day 10, wish we could do it all over again!

We began the day with our final breakfast. Delicious food, laughter, and reminiscing about the past several days. We had our closing activity and got to hear of everyone’s favorite moments and what they are taking away from the ten day experience. Beautiful closing activity followed by handing out bar/bat mitzvah certificates to the 13 people who went through with the ceremony on Masada. We checked out of the hotel and loaded the bus and began our drive to Neve Tzedek to begin our contemporary walk in Tel Aviv. We then split up into three groups and enjoyed culinary tour in Carmel market, the walls of Tel Aviv speak art, and going Local. We had lunch and then went on a walking tour in Jaffa – the Ancient seaport & artist colony + Nahalat binyamin. We then had free time for shopping. The final activity was having dinner at Dr. Shaksuka, a restaurant in Jaffa. The participants then got on the bus and headed to the airport. The plane has taken of and they are on their way home. Some extended and we with them luck as they explore Israel more in depth.

10 days ago we met, most of us strangers, yet this evening, we parted as a community- as a chosen family. The connections and memories we created as a group will last long after this 10 day adventure. We laughed, we cried, as sang, we danced, we walked.. a lot! We learned how to nap on the bus. It was an adventure of a lifetime and we are forever thankful to donors, the staff of taglit Birthright Israel, and everyone involved for this gift of a lifetime.

With gratitude,
Hal, Natalie, and Jonathan
