TL-46-929 Update 2
We can’t believe we’re halfway done with our trip already! We spent the last couple of days in and around Tel Aviv, exploring many areas of the city including Neve Tzedek and Shuk HaCarmel. Before Shabbat we spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach which was a much needed rest after a very busy first couple of days. We had a lovely Shabbat together and reflected on what being Jewish means to everyone as well as having some discussions about Jewish identity. After Shabbat ended the group got to experience what night life is like in Tel Aviv! We finally met our Israeli participants (mifgash) and welcomed them into our group this morning. With them we toured Jaffa, explored the flea market there, and then took a tour reflecting on Israel’s and specifically Tel Aviv’s history with the LGBTQ community. At the end of the day we drove into Jerusalem and just caught the end of the Jerusalem Flag parade and got to join in on the excitement on our way to dinner at Machne Yeduha!
