TL-46-9/1077 Update 4

Day 2:

The group was really excited to explore Tzfat, we could feel it after the long day of travel the day before. Today was a reflective day for everyone, as it was Yom HaZikaron (Israeli Memorial Day). Our tour guide, Bar, went through the special meaning of the day to him and this had a deep impact on our participants. After our observance of the memorial siren, Bar took us to downtown Tzfat and the participants had a fun walk by themselves through the city. I was able to catch up with a few of them and they loved the old style of the city and the beautiful artwork.

What better day to be on Birthright than a day that goes from remembrance to celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut. Fireworks and a concert and having fun in Tiberias made our participants love life in Israel. It was something special to see them experience this for the first time.

Day 3:

It was off to the great outdoors of Tiberias with a great hike that overlooked the Sea of Galilee. After a morning stretch led by our participant, Jessica, a personal trainer, we hiked down to the other side of the mountain, trusting in the cables that helped us defy gravity and the rock climbing!
Our day ended in Jerusalem with a super cold night on Ben Yehuda. Everyone had a blast out on their own for dinner, and we ended with a fun last picture of the evening, huddled together!
