TL-46-62 Update 2

Day 2 was a FABULOUS day! We began our adventures at the Gadot Overlook, a memorial for Israeli soldiers who lost their lives in the battles for the Golan Heights. While there, we enjoyed a special “Shehechiyanu” moment and started to learn the history of who ruled the land of Israel going back thousands of years. Our next stop was in Katzrin, a small town in the Golan Heights where we took advantage of some shopping at their indoor and outdoor mall and enjoyed an early lunch. While there, we met the Israeli students and soldiers who are joining us for the remainder of the trip — Welcome Niv, Edward, Talya, BatShir, and Sarah!

Next up were our water adventures – a hike in the Majrase in the Upper Galilee, followed by rafting down the Jordan River. While the temps were on the rise, the cool water on the river and the wind across our bows made it a relaxing and comfortable ride.

Finally, after some time to shower and relax at the hotel, we dined on the shores of the Sea of Galilee at Decks – a delicious meat restaurant.

Tomorrow, we will explore the city of Tzfat and then make our way south to Jerusalem.
