TL-46-130 Update 1

We made it just in time for Shabbat. After a busy day in the Arbel National Forest hiking, learning about the history of the Galilee Region, and rafting down the Jordan River we were able to come together for a Kabbalat Shabbat. After dinner we started our Jewish identity journey and continued to form our group identity through a round of speed dating with general questions about ourselves, Jewish identity, and Israeli trivia.

Everyone enjoyed the oneg by the pool where a lot of bonding happened. Saturday was relaxing including pool time and yoga. We continued the exploration of Jewish identity through an activity called four corners and ended our Shabbat learning by having our participants put on skits based on movie genres on how to introduce a potential partner to your parents.

We ended Shabbat with a beautiful Havdallah service by the pool and an optional night out in Tiberias. We wrapped everything up with bus karaoke and pizza.

Today (Sunday) we spent the day exploring the mystical city of Tzfat on our own. We then traveled to spend an hour working at an organization teaching Arab and Jewish women to work together. We sampled local olive oil and made Za’atar to take home.

We have arrived in Tel Aviv where we will be for the next 2 nights.

“The fast pace fun and actions forces you to get out of your own shell and make friends and family with the other participants and staff in away you don’t think you would.” Matt M, St Louis Park, MN

We are enjoying breaking bread and not wind. But seriously, it’s been an absolute pleasure  to visit the northern part of Israel and I am looking forward to the rest of the trip.” Emily Z, Mount Vernon, IA
