TL-46-1111 Update 2

Shabbat Shalom from Jerusalem!

So much has happened since our last update. We explored all parts of Tel Aviv with a food tour, an architecture tour, a graffiti art tour, and an LGBTQ+ tour of this modern city. We got to relax on the beach of the Mediterranean, and we spent an evening out on the town.

After leaving Tel Aviv, we went South to see a different part of Israel. We spent the night in a tent, feeding camels and having a drum circle, before waking up for sunrise over Masada. We floated in the Dead Sea before making our way up to Jerusalem, where we will be spending Shabbat.

Today was a day full of commemoration and memory – we visited Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial here in Israel, as well as Mt. Herzl, the military cemetery. Having our Israeli peers with us for today has been especially meaningful.

We know Shabbat in Jerusalem will be special and we can’t wait for the second half of our trip!
