Live Trip Updates- August 11, 2014

Every day we will post live trip updates. Check for the group code (starting with TL-30-) for a specific group…

TL-30-413: Safe travels back to the US! Lehitraot!

TL-30-416: This Atlanta community group began the day very early to hike Masada in time for the sunrise. There they heard the epic story of King Herod and the Romans against the Jewish people. After having an early lunch (that felt like breakfast), the group swam in the natural waterfalls and pools in the Ein Gedi oasis. They were then off to the Dead Sea for a therapeutic mud cleanse and to float in its salty waters. They will spend the evening at the Bedouin tents. Check out some photos from today…

TL-30-417 and TL-30-418: These groups started the day off with a visit to Sde Boker, where they toured the tomb of the first Prime Minister of Israel, David Ben-Gurion, and his wife, Paula. Then they visited the Naot Farm in the Negev desert, where they were able to see and pet goats, as well as taste different types of homemade cheeses. From there, they went up north to Haifa, where they will have a wrap-up session before leaving for the airport tomorrow to fly home.

TL-30-419 and TL-30-791: These groups were off to an early start (around 4:00am!) to hike Masada to watch the sun rise over the Dead Sea and the Negev. After the long and winding descent down the snake path, the groups hiked to Nahal David in Ein Gedi to soak in some sun and enjoy swimming in the natural waterfalls. They spent the afternoon relaxing in the Dead Sea before heading to the Bedouin tent for an authentic overnight experience. Check out a couple of photos from today…

From there, they went to Yad Vashem, which is the National Holocaust Memorial Museum. Following these somber sites, the group made their way down south, where they will enjoy a lively evening in the Bedouin tent. Check out a picture from today…

Aug 11- Group 420

TL-30-421: The day started for this group in the city of Tzfat, which is known as the birthplace of Kaballah. They explored the winding alleyways filled with quaint shops and artists markets. After that, they were joined by their Israeli peers, who will be with the group for the next several days of the trip. They all traveled down to the Negev for an overnight stay in the Bedouin tent.

TL-30-423: Welcome to Israel! From the airport, this group traveled up north to the ancient city of Caesaria for their opening ceremony. It was then off to a scenic hike on Mount Arbel. The group will be spending the evening in Tiberias. Check out a photo from today…
