Dear Travelers,

We are writing to let you know that all Birthright Israel departures have been canceled, at least through January 15, 2022. Despite our best intentions in trying to make these trips possible for you in a responsible manner, the rapid spread of Omicron has overtaken our planning. Although clearly disappointing, we trust you agree that this was the right decision in this moment, in the interest of public health, and in the interest of your own experience. Rest assured, we'll be here and ready to host you in Israel on this extraordinary journey when the time is right again – hopefully much sooner than later.

For reference, here is the official cancellation notice from Birthright Israel:

As the Omicron variant continues to spread quickly around the world, the government of Israel will most likely add the USA and Canada to the “red list” of countries effective Tuesday at midnight. A red country is considered to be at the highest risk and non-Israeli citizens coming from this country are not allowed to enter Israel.

In light of this, and in order to maintain the safety and well-being of our participants and staff, Birthright Israel will cancel all trips scheduled to depart starting December 20th and until further notice. Unfortunately, that includes your upcoming trip as well. We are full of hope that trips will resume very soon and in the meantime, you can either reschedule your trip for a later date in 2022 or receive a refund for your paid deposit, whichever you prefer.
