Live Trip Updates – September 4, 2014

TL-30-440: The group spent their final day in Israel exploring Tel Aviv. The group started the day at Rabin Square in downtown Tel Aviv, a memorial to former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Then, they toured Independence Hall to learn about the creation of the State of Israel. After lunch, the group had some free time to enjoy the beach on Tel Aviv’s beautiful Mediterranean coast. Next, they walked around the old seaport city of Jaffa. They group finished the day with a closing dinner and wrap up session to reflect on their time in Israel. They will head to the airport very early tomorrow to catch their flight home.

TL-30-441: Today, the group spent their final day in Tel Aviv. They first visited Rabin Square, a memorial to former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Then, they toured Independence Hall to learn more about the history of Israel. In the afternoon, the group received some free time to enjoy the beautiful Tel Aviv beaches on the Mediterranean Coast. After, they walked around the old city of Jaffa. Tonight they enjoyed a closing dinner and wrap up session to complete their trip. They will travel to the airport early tomorrow morning to take their flight back to the States.

TL-30-443: The group had a somber day in Jerusalem today. They first visited Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Museum and Memorial, and then toured Har Herzl National Memorial and Military Cemetery. At these sites the group learned about the challenging history of the Jewish people and Israel. Afterward, the group lightened the mood with some free time on Ben Yehuda Street, one of Jerusalem’s most popular pedestrian shopping streets. In the evening, they attended a fascinating political seminar by Neil Lazarus on the situation in Israel today.

TL-30-444: Today was a meaningful and powerful day for the group as they began the day with a visit to Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and Memorial. Afterwards, they toured Har Herzl National Memorial and Military Cemetery. Later in the afternoon, the mood of the day picked up when the group had some free time on Ben Yehuda Street, one of Jerusalem’s popular pedestrian shopping and restaurant streets. Later, at the hotel, the group attended a political seminar on the current situation in Israel with Neil Lazarus.

TL-30-445 and TL-30-446: This morning the group began the day in Tzippori, exploring the ancient ruins and excavations there. Then, they traveled to the northern city of Haifa. They first went to the Stella Maris lookout for an incredible view of the city and then spent time on the beach on the Mediterranean Sea. After lunch in Haifa, the group drove to their next destination, Jerusalem. Once in Jerusalem, they received their first view of the city from the Haas Promenade. They will spend the next few nights in Jerusalem.

TL-30-447: Today the group began the day in the beautiful and mystic city of Tzfat. In Tzfat, the group toured the old city, visited historic synagogues, met with local artists and shopped in their stores, and had free time to eat and explore. After a fun day in Tzfat, the group traveled into the mountains for a hike on Mount Meiron. They finished the evening back at their hotel in Tiberias.
